Pinoy Fries needs Sponsors for its First Contest!

This blog has just reached a hundred posts, and we think it's time to hold a contest. However, to make the contest really big and fun to join, we need sponsors. Sponsorships can be in form of ECs, Paypal cash, ad spots, reviews, links or services you can offer. As a sponsor, you get a lot of link juice from the contest participants, and you also get to help a new blog gain exposure.

To announce your sponsorship, head on to the "sponsors needed" post or email Spife at unplugandplay {at] gmail [dot} com

Lame Pick of the Day: Dyesebel with Marian Rivera

As if Mari Mar wasn't enough agony, GMA 7 renames their #1 show and gives the show's mains stars different names.

Here's a random video, which I did not watch coz I know any random clip will do.

I was able to watch the premiere of this hyped tele-drama. God, Marian Rivera does not even change her googly-eyed, "innocent" attack on the role of Dyesebel. She seemed like Mari Mar in a mermaid costume.

And why do Dingdong Dantes's roles always have Spanish names?!? Carlos Miguel, Sergio SantibaƱez, and now Fredo-I-don't-know-something-etc. Is he always supposed to be the Spanish hunk? That's why he never won any acting recognition.

What I hated most about the series is the set design. Is that what you call a million-peso budget? It looks like an elementary school production of sorts. Animated bubbles? Have a bubble machine for God's sake. You're wasting it on the talent fee of the non-acting-lead-actress.

And what the hell is the greeting "Magandang alon" supposed to mean?

Oh and by the way, "sliding" instead of walking under the sea? The mermaids look like they're on a conveyor belt of sorts.

And also the animations are ridiculous. Hellraiser 2, an 80's film, has better animations than this one.

Come on, GMA, you may be winning the ratings with this one, but you aren't winning the approval of people who love decent TV.
