Pinoy Pride: Manny Pacquiao is New WBC Lightweight Champion

Manny Pacquiao is the first Asian to win four boxing title belts. Pacquiao knocks out David Diaz in the 9th round to win the WBC Lightweight Championship at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Manny cut David Diaz in the 4th round, after which he dominated. In the 9th round, Pacquiao lands a right-left comibination which sent Diaz facedown to the mat.

Manny displayed speed and prowess in what seems to be his best fight as of the moment. He got it on at the center of the ring, all the time avoiding Diaz's "brawler" style. He made use of his right jab to avoid Diaz's attacks. Moving up to lightweight was not a problem for him.

The event was graced by the presence of the Boston Celtics, which Manny Pacquiao openly supported during the NBA Finals.

A round-by-round recap can be found here.

Congrats Pac-man! Mabuhay ang Pilipino!

Chivas Malunda has left Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2

Due to health reasons, Chivas Malunda, the "Student Husband" from Negros Oriental has left the Academy, leaving behind wife Bunny. The decision was made by the couple yesterday, with the consent of Dream Mentor Monet Silvestre and Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab.

It all started with a hyperventilation attack suffered by Chivas last week, one day before the first gala night. Early this week, Chivas was rushed to the hospital due to what was found to be a migraine episode. Yesterday, Chivas suddenly fell to the floor while mingling with Pupilar orgmates. It was another hyperventilation attack. The other scholars at the scene quickly responded.

After things stabilized, the couple had a discussion with mentor Monet and then with headmaster Ryan. At first, Bunny wanted to go with Chivas, stating she wanted to take care of him outside. However, Bunny's drive to learn more led her to the decision that she will be staying despite Chivas' departure. An announcement was then made by headmaster Ryan to the scholars, who were shocked with the news.

Because of the voluntary exit, voting has been suspended for this week. This means Iñaki and Laarni are no longer on probation.

Lame Pick of the Day: "The Golden Divas" - Carmen Pateña, Carmen Soriano, Pilita Corrales perform Rihanna's Umbrella on SOP

Why oh why GMA? Why?!?!?!?!

This just proves that GMA 7's talents are dwindling, so dwindling that they resort to making aged performers embarass themselves by singing a song they haven't heard before. My God. Just look at them forget the lyrics. The bad thing is, I watched this live on TV. And God was I embarassed for them. This is a total waste of time, energy and otherwise good talent. Who even wants to hear that song performed by another artist again? It has been done a gazillion times over that it kills me to hear another version again. What's next? You'll resurrect Elvis and make him sing "Umbrella" too?

The painfully embarassing video after the cut. I put it behind the cut because I don't want to embarass them any further. Just click "read more"..

Shaun the Sheep - Mower Mouth

Here's another "silent" cartoon, but this time it's in clay-mation. I often watch this on Disney Channel when I'm staying up late. Glad there's some youtube clips so I can share it to you guys. Don't worry, it's just 5 minutes.

In this episode, there's a goat who just "mows" through everything.

Jeni Rawolle is the First to leave the Pinoy Idol Top 12

Yes, you heard it right. Jeni, the lounge singer who sings classic songs, is the first to be eliminated from the Pinoy Idol Top 12. She was in the bottom two with Sue Ellen and in the bottom three with Kid Camaya.

----------

Come on. Emdyey said, "I only had one reason for watching Pinoy Idol, and now it's gone, are you still gonna watch it?". I said, "Yes of course, so I now if a competent one will win P.I.".

Whatever.

Iñaki Ting and Laarni Losala are the First Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Probationary Scholars

Iñaki and Laarni are the first PDA Season 2 Scholars on Probation. The original set of scholars on probation, determined by the jurors, included Christian Alvear and Bea Muñoz. However, the Dream Mentors decided to save Christian, after a very long discussion and votation wherein each mentor had a different scholar which he/she wanted to save. The majority of the scholars then voted to save Bea, citing the reason that "she wanted it more".

To vote for the scholar you want to save, text PDA INAKI or PDA LAARNI and send to 231 for Smart, Talk n' Text and Sun Cellular subscribers, and to 2331 for Globe and TM subscribers.

----

I think Laarni will be voted off. However, Iñaki's name is confusing to vote for, with the confusion arising from the "ñ" and the "n". We'll just have to see.

Music Video of the Day: Various Artists - Bagong Simula

"Various artists" songs with themes about helping humanity often feature popstars, balladeers, belters and the like. They all tend to sound alike and sound boring, despite the good messages they provide.

This song, however, catches my attention because it's different. It features ROCKSTARS man! This song is the theme song of ABS-CBN's new advocacy program, "Bayanijuan", organized in celebration of the station's 55th year on the air.

"Bayanijuan", with the theme “Walang Iwanan sa Bayan Ni Juan” re-imagines the Filipino volunteer spirit, or “bayanihan,” as a force to create a better, more compassionate Philippines for ourselves and our children.

My First Pinoy Dream Academy Post: First Gala Night

I could list a hundred reasons why Pinoy Dream Academy is WAAAAY better than Pinoy Idol, and I could start with Toni Gonzaga. Well, that's reserved for another post. And sorry for not posting in a while, I'm busy with board exam reviews and some work. I was able to catch the scholars' first gala night, and I wasn't disappointed, not unlike THE OTHER show. Anyways..

Theme: Songs Dedicated to their Fathers

Laarni - In Your Eyes (Regine Velasquez)

Her voice was too thin here, for the song was out of her range. I still commend her for being on pitch, though.

Iñaki - Close to You (The Carpenters)

His voice had that nice jazz sound to it. However, he seemed to be lacking in air. His nice and confident stage presence made up for these slight cons.

Jet - Skyline Pigeon (Elton John)

Oh no, his first few lines are flatter than flat! The performance was tense, and he had diction problems especially with his "i"'s and "e"'s. EDIT: OMG Jet is the vocalist of a band named Sober?!?! Now that band's gonna be big when he gets out of the Academy.

Cris - Papa Oom Mow Mow (The Beach Boys)

Well, I think Cris is hot. Nuff said. Hehe. Okay I need to be unbiased here. She was on pitch, although her stage movements seemed contrived. Is she tense without a band directly behind her? Also, her cap was distracting! It covered her otherwise pretty face. Okay, for the record, I must say she looks like Amanda Griffin. Right?

Bea - Moon River (Frank Sinatra / Audrey Hepburn)

Oh my, she's so cute on camera! Her singing? It was quite plain, but good enough. Did I say she's cute on cam?

Miguel - A House is Not a Home (Luther Vandross)

Well, I have a bias against Miguel because she "eliminated" Pow way back in Philippine Idol. But I'll be fair to him, because he brought Bea to this competition hehe. The singing was technically very good. However, it was a typical "balladeer" performance. Stop calling him "The Romantic Crooner" for Heaven's sakes! It's not even crooning.

Christian - Laklak (Teeth)

It was a hi-energy performance, even though Christian was small and could be eaten up by the stage, like Sue Ellen did. Oh, she's from Pinoy Idol top 12! Sorry.
Anyways, he was very very sharp all the way, and his stage moves and expressions did not match the song. It's a song about getting wasted and regretting it! Next time, please understand the song well first.

Liezel - Dance with My Father (Luther Vandross)

It was a good yet plain performance for me. She was styled perfectly, and her dark skin glowed. She kinda looked like Bianca Gonzalez in that performance.

Van - I Can't Fight this Feeling (REO Speedwagon)

This performance belongs on Pinoy Idol. No, really, why was it here? Okay. He was clearly not using the "relax your head muscles while singing so you could get the most out of your voice" taught to him. He was completely out of air the whole performance. Nice stage presence though. He will surely sell as a celebrity.

Apple - Papa Can You Hear Me (Barbra Streisand)

She's cute on camera too. I think she looks like Denise Laurel. I'm actually confused now whether it's she or Bea whom I said looks like Denise. Whatever. Her performance was "Lea Salonga-ish", maybe because she's already a trained singer.

Hansen - Kailangan Kita (Gary V)

His voice is really thin, and his neck was so tense during the performance, making his voice thinner. He sounded like a typical balladeer again, like Miguel.

Sheng - Salamat (Yeng Constantino)

Singing a song by the first PDA winner will surely get you compared with the original. She had a nice range, but her performance was tense and pitchy throughout, flat at most times.

Ross - Father and Son (Cat Stevens / Boyzone)

Nice choice of song, and nice light rock arrangement. He was quite disconnected from the song at times, though. And please, STOP THE "ALEX BAND ACCENT"!!!!1

Bugoy - You'll Never Walk Alone (Various Artists)

He has that very unique tone which is easily identifiable. His performance was very sincere.

Bunny - Thanks to You (Tyler Collins)

Nice voice quality there. She pulled it off despite straining her voice when her husband Chivas hyperventilated the day before.

Chivas - After the Lovin' (Engelbert Humperdinck)

It was a low-key but relaxed and confident performance. Nothing much to say but I commend him for continuing to perform despite his health condition the day before.

Star Scholar: Liezel

Because of this, her beloved grandmother gets a cellphone. I was quite surprised at the decision. But I don't contest it either.

Who I think will be on probation:

Laarni, Jet and Hansen gave the weakest performances of the night, I think. We'll just have to see.

Lame Pick of the Day: Alessandra de Rossi's "Killer Revival" of Christopher Cross's "Sailing"

Another actress who should just be acting instead of trying to become a singer. Come on, I think you already earn enough from acting! I even like your TV performances. But please, a "revival" should "revive" a song, not "kill" it. A cover should at least be comparable to the original.

I listen to and like Enya, Dead Can Dance, Emmy Rossum and New Age music stuff. But this one just brings shame to the term "New Age". Please! The song is a century long, the music video is even lamer. What a way to bring people to sleep. I'll show the original by Christopher Cross, for your reference.

The original, which I like:

The lame version / "killer revival":

NBA: Almost.

The Celtics overcome a late Lakers rally, go up 2-0 in the NBA Finals.

I was somewhere in my head, dreaming, when I felt something. It was my phone, vibrating. I took the phone, read the messages, and then hung like a Pentium 1 trying to run Quake 3.

"Oh, shit."

Celtics-Lakers, Celtics-Lakers, Celtics-Lakers. With hopes of seeing at least the second half action, I quickly sprung out of my bed, plugged the cable box, clicked 6-2 in its analog, and then turned the TV on.

To my dismay, the fourth quarter was about to start. Won't be able to turn back time, so pwede na din.

The Celtics were up twenty. Gasol, Odom, Garnett, and Pierce were on the bench.

With only Kobe and Allen on the floor, this Game 2 of a star-studded Finals match-up seemed over. Leon Powe was having the game of his life, while the Lakers reserves were having the exact opposite. Dunks, free throws, lucky shots, it was all Boston. Time and time the Lakers would score, but the Celtics would come back. It was that kind of game. Garbaage time. Pretty much the type of late games the Sonics and the Heat play. Well, not quite.

Kobe was still on the game. And though the Celtics were blowing the game wide open, you couldn't help but feel that it wasn't over.

And well, it wasn't.

The Lakers caught the Celtics off-guard, and made it rain threes from all sides. Vujacic, Radmanovic, Fisher, and then Bryant, all pitched in, as the Lakers chipped within single digits, from a 20-point deficit. Then, with less than 40 seconds left in the game, Kobe made it a two-point game. The Boston fans were in a daze, as the Lakers were on a verge of another miraculous comeback.

Pierce wasn't moved, though. Not behind the free-throw line, not on his turf, not on the Garden, not under 16 banners.

The Lakers fouled Paul Pierce on a drive attempt. Pierce sank two pressure-packed free throws to make it a four-point game, and then blocked a Vujacic 3-pointer on the other side.

Over. Done. Sigh of relief for Doc Rivers and the Celtics. Disappointment on the Lakers side.

There's still Game 3 and 4 on the Staples Center, though. 2-2.

Still, it's the Celtics on 7.

Walton Zerrudo and Meryl David Eliminated from Pinoy Idol

Walton Zerrudo and Meryl David's Pinoy Idol journeys have ended.

Why were only two contestants eliminated? I guess they want the contestants to improve before moving on to the top 12.

Walton, Kid and Toffer were in the male bottom three. I think Kid should have gone home. Come on voting public, don't be complacent just because your favorite performed well.

Mae, Jeni and Meryl were in the bottom three. I think anybody from the girls could have gone home.

Oh well, I'm expecting more improvements in the next performance nights.

Pinoy Idol Top 8 Girls Perform

I don't know why I am still watching Pinoy Idol. At least Pinoy Pop Superstar had a bunch of new and possibly better talent every week. With Pinoy Idol, we're stuck with amateurish talent every week. Well, I'm still seeing potential improvements in some of the contestants. I hope these better contestants don't get eliminated. Some "better talents" like Drizzle, Vren and Rye have already been voted off. I guess the number of voters are pretty low, and results can be "manipulated" via "power voting".

I can't wait for Pinoy Dream Academy. Really.

Theme: Songs from Their Greatest Musical Influences

Jayann Bautista - Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love
(note: I watched this performance online, I was not able to catch it on TV)

Wyngard: You seem to have a problem with song choice.
Jolina: There was a lack in performance.
Ogie: You were more polished. Next time, choose a song that showcases your voice.

Spife: It's obvious why she was put in the doomed first spot. Pitchy, lack of air, off-timed with respect to the band, a perfect disaster.

Meryl David - The Fugees (Lauryn Hill) - Killin' Me Softly

Ogie: I liked it. It's "the Meryl I've been looking for".
Jolina: Right choice of song, but performance is lacking. You need balance in your performance and singing.
Wyngard: I see a lack of focus in performance.

Spife: Copycat! Tense, pitchy, lots of off-key runs.

Jeni Rawolle - Ella Fitzgerald - Too Darn Hot

Ogie: Only you can do "old school" songs. Classy, performance, your personality shows.
Jolina: Your strength lies in these kinds of songs.
Wyngard: Outstanding.

Spife: I can't understand a thing! Too much accent, I think. She seemed disconnected from the song, her eyes were looking far away. In the recap, though, I noticed Jeni's performance being slow-mo'ed. Are they pimping her?

Gretchen Espina - Jaya - Wala Na Bang Pag-ibig

Wyngard: Plain performance, a waste of good talent. Choose a more challenging song next time.
Ogie: Find something edgy and step up.
Jolina: Be extraordinary.

Spife: Copycat performance, very nasal tone, lots of stupid melisma.

Sue Ellen - Natasha Bedingfield - Love Like This

Jolina: You have a good, foreign artist-sounding voice. More effort next time.
Ogie: I'm very happy that you're back. You can still catch up [with the others]

Spife: The stage moves disconnect her from the song, making the performance more annoying than ever.

Carol Leus - Christina Aguilera - The Voice Within

Ogie: Congratulations, you are less afraid now. Just be careful in your placement [from head tone to chest tone etc.]
Jolina: Next time, be sure of the song you are singing. You are not afraid anymore
Wyngard: It was good. Continue what you're doing.

Spife: Now I'm being redundant. Too much runs that she can't handle, unintelligible lyrics.

Penelope - Jordin Sparks - One Step at a Time

Wyngard: You're really great. Whether or not you win the show, I'm sure you'll be around.
Ogie: You continue to surprise me. Your level of musicality is high, and it was a clean performance.
Jolina: You have a good voice quality.

Spife: It seemed she was trying too hard. Her diction was bad.

Mae Flores - Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away

Jolina: Good facial expressions, good voice quality. Beware of shouting some lines.
Ogie: The performance was relaxed and sexy.
Wyngard: One of the best performances of the night.

Spife: Flashy clothes, dull performance. These finalists should get breathing lessons from Regine Velasquez.

Judges' Weak Pick: Gretchen

Spife's Weak Pick: Jayann

We'll see what happens next.

Rudy Fernandez, 1952-2008

"It was a life well-lived, it was a life well-ended," Lorna Tolentino told reporters at the Heritage Parks in Taguig, where the remains of his husband, Rudy "Daboy" Fernandez, lay.

Fernandez passed away due to complications from periampullary cancer at around 3 this morning, while in his home in Quezon City. His remains were brought to Heritage Parks in Taguig at around 8 in the morning. The funeral will be on June 12.

Fernandez was taken out of Cardinal Santos Hospital last week after several months of treatment. He had a seizure on Wednesday which worsened his condition, but he refused to be taken back to the hospital. Yesterday, his blood pressure lowered. His close friends such as senators Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla were around him when he took his last breath.

Fernandez was diagnosed with periampullary cancer last year. He remained calm and optimistic while undergoing treatment. He even said "You will see me next year, same time, same place," to the people who celebrated his birthday with him last March.

Rudy Fernandez debuted in the film Luksong Tagumpay at the age of three. He signed with Sampaguita Pictures in 1970 while still a student at University of Santo Tomas. Beginning with Bitayin si Baby Ama (Execute Baby Ama), a biopic of a well-known Filipino criminal, he has specialized in portraying true-to-life characters. He was known as The King of True-to-Life Stories after portraying the lead characters in several biopics of certain personalities such as politicians Vincent "Bingbong" Crisologo and Panfilo "Ping" Lacson.

He ran for Quezon City mayor during the 2001 elections, but he lost to then-house speaker Sonny Belmonte.

He had one son, Mark Anthony Fernandez, with former partner Alma Moreno and two sons, Renz Marion and Raphael Fernandez with Lorna Tolentino.

We will miss you, Daboy.

Ejay Falcon is Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus

Ejay Falcon, the "Promdi Hottie from Mindoro", wins the title "Teen Big Winner" of the recently concluded Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus after garnering 36.39% of the approximately 1.5 million total text votes cast by the voting public. Robi Domingo, the "True Blue Atenista", came in second with 34.39% of the total. Nicole Uysiuseng, the "In Chick of Cebu", came in third with 18.39% while Beauty Gonzales came in fourth with 10.91%. The announcement was made at a very packed Araneta Coliseum, at the end of the space-themed "Big Night at the Big Dome".

Ejay won 1 million pesos, a condo unit, and a 1.5 million drinking water store package. Robi won 500,000 pesos, Nicole won 300,000 pesos and Beauty 200,000 pesos. Each of the Teen Big Four received a kitchen showcase and a laptop.

Ejay joined the show because he wanted to help his poor family in Mindoro. He was not an early favorite, as he was silent and shy at the start. He was able to overcome the language barrier and his shyness after a while. He eventually courted housemate Valerie Weignmann inside the house, and the two developed a strong relationship that was loved by the cameras. His revelation to his father that he was not his real son brought tears to the viewers' eyes. He did the tasks and challenges given to him with utmost sincerity and honesty. He was never nominated and got along well with the other housemates.

The "Big Night at the Big Dome" featured performances from the ex-housemates, former housemates such as Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, and guests such as the superband Project 1 and Billy Crawford, host of the upcoming Pinoy Dream Academy Season Two.

Pinoy Idol Top 8 Boys Perform

Last week, Dio Paolo, Elliot Andal, Drizzle Muñiz and Bev Ejercito were eliminated from the top 20. Too bad I wasn't able to watch the eliminations.

Ha! Tonight I came home just in time to catch the performances by the Top 8 Boys. When I found out the theme, I knew there will be some who will definitely step up, and some who will fold under the pressure of singing songs familiar to them. Here's a rundown of what happened.

Theme: Songs from their Greatest Musical Influences

JJ Jr. - Stevie Wonder - Sign, Sealed, Delivered

Ogie said: It was fun, 6/10.
Jolina said: It was pitchy, .you still had the same "moves"
Wyngard said: You are better off performing in German Moreno's "Walang Tulugan" Show, where new talents are discovered.

I say: It was amateurish, moves were still awkward, falsetto at the end falls short.

Toffer Rei - Harem Scarem - Something to Say

Ogie said: The singing was not very clean, but you did it with a lot of heart.
Jolina said: Too pitchy
Wyngard said: One of your worst performances. I expected more.

I say: Unique in the competition, but contemporarily copycat-ish.

Daryl Celis - Ne-yo - Because of You

Ogie said: It was out of tune all the way.
Jolina said: You have the X-factor, but the off-key notes "cover" your X-factor.
Wyngard said: "A" for effort in performance, but the singing hasn't improved.

I say: Good moves, but they affect the vocals, which were pretty weak.

Robby Navarro - Color Me Badd - Wildflower

Ogie said: You are the "Pinoy Idol" tonight.
Jolina said: Continue owning the stage, see you in the finals.
Wyngard said: Good singing, but the attitude was lacking

I say: Started out good, but too much off-key melisma ruined an otherwise good performance. Nice range, though.

Warren Antig - Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

I thought while watching the performance: He ripped off recently-crowned American Idol David Cook's cover of Chris Cornell's cover of Michael Jackson's original, so it's THIRD RATE AT BEST!!! I was quite enraged, but I know the performance will sell to the ones who don't watch American Idol. However, the judges' comments reminded the viewing public of the performance's "originality".

Jolina said: Good showcase of range, but lack of originality. I saw this in AI with David Cook.
Wyngard said: You're no David Cook.
Ogie said: What you did wasn't better than Cook's

I say: Poor Chris Cornell.

Ram Chavez - Rivermaya - Kung Ayaw Mo, Wag Mo

Ogie said: Underutilized attitude, but still good singing. Your least interesting performance.
Jolina said: You were in pitch.
Wyngard said: You're one of the good "Bamboo copies", but I'm still worried.

I thought: It was quite a Bamboo copycat, started out nasally, but ended quite originally.

Walton Zerrudo - Lionel Richie - Hello

Ogie said: I'm proud of you. Smooth vocals, effortless and heartfelt.
Jolina said: You are showing improvement.
Wyngard said: You should lessen your "sad" expression that you always wear.

I say: Nice R&B feel, it was on pitch, and the song's feelings shine through.

Kid Camaya - Peabo Bryson - Love Always Finds a Way

Ogie said: You are one of the best male vocalists, but you need to up the performance.
Jolina said: Performance was lacking, nerves show.
Wyngard said: A waste of a good voice. Seemed like an audition performance.

I say: It was on pitch, but forgettable. Not deserving of the pimp spot.

Judges' weak picks: Daryl (Ogie, Jolina), JJ (Jolina), Warren (Wyngard)

My weak picks: Kid, Warren and Daryl.

Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo's Kapitan Boom

After the success of "Pedro Penduko" and "Pedro Penduko at mga Engkantao", both of which I did not watch, Komiks comes up with a "Superman Rip-off" fantaserye in the form of Mars Ravelo's "Kapitan Boom", a story about a clumsy superhero who tries hard to juggle crime-fighting and the personal life of his alter-ego. Sounds familiar?

Modified from here:

Kapitan Boom was born when a young Lance (Jay-R Siaboc) accidentally hits his father's transmitter, leading to an explosion where he unexpectedly acquires his superpowers. It was only when he became an adult that he was able to fully use his skills through his superhero persona, Kapitan Boom (Jon Avila). Something to watch for in the series is the complicated yet hilarious interaction between Lance, Lance's love interest Melody (Maja Salvador), Melody's best friend Cheska (Mariana del Rio), Lance's best friend Bukol (Thou Reyes), and Kapitan Boom.

Jay-R Siaboc of Pinoy Dream Academy fame once again shines in his "probinsyano" (from the province) character. His chemistry with Thou Reyes, who plays his best friend, is impeccable. Thou's antics relieve the comic tension Jay-R makes with his character Lance.

Jon Avila, as Kapitan Boom, is styled so much like Brandon Routh, thus the Superman rip-off suspicions. However, he does not use his real voice--his voice is dubbed over by Jay-R. This covers up his otherwise accented Filipino, which could be bad for his character's image.

Maja Salvador is the main reason why I watch this show. Now, isn't that a biased statement? Her role here is quite similar to his previous roles in shows such as Pangarap na Bituin, which also paired her up with Jay-R. She is not a stranger to the bungangera (loudmouthed) role, which she plays quite well here.

One problem I have with the show is that Maja sometimes seem to be upstaged by her co-actress Mariana del Rio--the lovely Brazilian model who was in the news for being Cesar Montano's alleged paramour. Mariana seems to be so much taller than Maja, and she takes up most of the camera space in scenes where she is with Maja. Maybe Maja should wear high heels, perhaps?

The show is quite promising in terms of fleshing out the story--scenes are not meaninglessly comedic or overly dramatic. The actors and actresses do a good job in playing their roles. The casting was just right.

We'll just have to see whether Kapitan Boom continues to soar in the network ratings game.

Upon exiting the house, he was greeted by his father who went all the way from Italy. He was given a Sony VAIO laptop by PBB.

Alex was known for his lack of Tagalog skills, his relationship with his Filipino mother, his circumcision inside the house, and his relationship with Beauty. He was never nominated. Unfortunately, his lack of a "provincial voting base" may have cost him a spot in the Big Four.

The Teen Big Four is now complete:

  • Robi Domingo
  • Nicole Uysiuseng
  • Beauty Gonzalez
  • Ejay Falcon

As of the eviction night, the rankings are:

Housemate A - 32.41%
Housemate B - 26.68%
Housemate C - 23.35%
Housemate D - 12.99%

I think Robi is in the lead, and the other three housemates could be anywhere in the remaining three slots. Well, I think Beauty and Nicole are fighting it out for the 2nd spot.

Voting is still open until the Big Night on June 7 at the Araneta Coliseum. Text BB [name of housemate] and send to 231 for Smart and Talk n' Text subscribers and to 2331 for other networks.

Jeff Hardy beats Umaga in their Falls Count Anywhere match. Hardy pinned Umaga after a Swanton Bomb from the top of a WWE trailer. The match went from the ring to different parts of the venue and eventually to the parking lot where Umaga fell down from the stairs of the truck onto the asphalt.

The Big Show beats CM Punk, John Morrison, Chavo Guerrero and Tommy Dreamer in the Singapore Cane Match to earn an ECW title match with Kane at Night of Champions. A bleeding Big Show pinned Chavo after a Singapore Cane to the head. The match was brutal, with many canes being used and broken. Big Show even brought a garbage can full of canes to the ring.

John Cena beats JBL in their First Blood Match. Cena used JBL's own chain and an STFU to make him bleed from the mouth.

Beth Phoenix "The Glamazon" beat Melina in an "I Quit" Match. The Glamazon forced Melina to say "I Quit" via a submission hold.

Batista beats Shawn Michaels in the Stretcher Match. Batista places Michaels on a Stretcher after slamming him (Spinebuster) on the steel steps outside the ring.

Triple H defeats Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship. Orton failed to answer the ten count after Triple H hit him with a sledgehammer. During the match, Orton suffered a legit broken collarbone/dislocated shoulder after he attempted to break his fall from the top rope into the floor outside the ring.

Edge beats The Undertaker in the carrer-threatening Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Edge won the match by retrieving the belt suspended above the ring, after pushing the Undertaker out of the ring and into a table just as he was about to get the belt. Per the pre-match stipulation, Undertaker was forced to leave WWE.

WTF @ Edge beating the Undertaker?!?!?! What's going to happen next? I can't imagine the WWE without The Dead Man.

I give this event an A for sheer physicality and brutality.
